"Louise
Ragin’s Black/African American Doll collection is awesome. Louise has participated in our Annual Lawrence
Township Senior Arts and Craft show where she has shown and sold dolls for several years. Louise is active in our “Busy
Bees” and Sewing Club where she has made presentations to the seniors and given historical backgrounds of the dolls
she has collected over the years. During our Annual Black History Month Celebration Louise also shows her dolls and
shares historical information about some of her collection. Her presentations are wonderful and her display is always
breath taking. I particularly enjoy her “Topsy Turvey” doll. The doll flips over and one side is black
and the other is white. The story behind those dolls is fascinating and gives us a glimpse of our history and culture.
Louise also shows and sells modern dolls and makes her own dolls and pillows and other artifacts/crafts. Louise is enormously
talented, and always so willing to share her gifts. If you get an opportunity to see or hear one of Louise’s presentations
about her dolls, you’re in for a great treat."
